The first challenge was to get AWE to change from a modular system stand to a bespoke custom built stand.
The second challenge was to try and get AWE not to have 3 of each product on the stand.
For the first 3 years the stand was designed to get as much product displayed as possible, promoting all the different manufactures that AWE sold.
These stands promoted the AWE “Solution House” which showed visitors how they could control the lighting, blinds, curtains, music etc from a remote control.
The stand allowed visitors to interact with the “Solution House” see the vast AWE product range and also promote AWE’S Engineering Training Programs.
To design a new stand with a Theme? And not so many products.
As AWE sponsored a racing team it was decided to design a Pit Lane style stand, by using different colour carpets to create the track which ran in front of the 4 Pit lane garages. 2 of which were used to display product, in the other 2 we created a theatre with tiered seating where visitors could sit and watch the latest 3d television.
Shelf units were used to the front edge of the stand to display more products along with an unusual shaped reception desk which had to fit within the pit lane shape. The only problem was the lack of storage space for the AWE staff to put their coats, briefcases, handbags etc so we designed the tyre mark drums which had removable tops to allow the staffs items to be stored there.
The stand showed AWE as a major player in their field, with the race track theme adding a fun element and at last not so many products!!!!
